This collection contains two letters and two handwritten copies of speeches delivered by Stephen Elliott. The speeches were given by Elliott to the Georgia Historical Society in 1844 and 1866. The copy of the 1866 speech is bound. In 1855 Amelia Murray of Norfolk, England wrote Elliott on the subject of slavery. Murray's letter was published in the Georgia Historical Quarterly in December of 1949. The second letter is undated and is written by Elliott to Dr. Charles N. West.
